I had just come back from a great drive. First topless drive this year. I was out a little longer than I should have so when I got back, I was in a rush to cover the car up and get where I needed to go.

Unfortunately, the sidepipes hadn't cooled down much and the cover was resting against one of them and left a little "imprint" of the quilting pattern on the inside of the cover. It may have burned off a little of the lining?

What's the best method of cleaning chrome so it doesn't get all scratched up?

I don't know if it's "the best", but Mother's Mag Polish has always done a dandy job for me. Any parts store should have it on the shelf with the cleaners and polishes (TwilightZone, Nappy, PimpBoys). |thumb|

I use blue job, you can get this at any Harley dealership...they may sell it elsewhere too. It's a blue powder that you mix with a little water, this stuff removes the black and blueing on chrome pipes without scratching the chrome.

Vette(s): 1976 Brown with Buckskin Interior. I bought her on 9/15/03 and just received it on OCT 1st 2003!! It needs interior work, and some things under the hood, but I am so excited! Just waiting for Summer of 2004 to totally show it off.
First - wait till they are all cooled off LMAO

Second - polish polish polish!!!

Think of it as bonding with your car |bouncy| |cheers|

Try Hoppes,#9 gun cleaner, a friend had a similar problem with the exhaust on his motor cycle and a burnt piece of leather.
This stuff cleans off burned gun power, lead and copper, and doesn't hurt the finish. |toungecool|
