'76-'78 std and SA had the "machined" finish. The '78 Pace Car and later had the polished finish. I still remember my buddy sweating away on his new '76 Simichroming his aluminums!

OHMYGAWD!!!! "Semichrome"....... I haven't heard that term in 'bout 40 years or more. The stuff was "THE BOMB" for polishing Harley, Norton, Triumph and BSA engine sideplates.
That was a blast from the past.... Thanks.

jayare, I forgot to check back on your post. I still swear by Heavy Metal Polish. If you ever get up this way for a show or anything, let me know. We had a blast at the Magic Dragon Show at Lake Ozark at the beginning of the month. We are planing to go to the Super Chevy Show at KCIR in August and the Good Guys show at Kansas Speedway in September. 1969 L46 2007-05-25 07:02:11

Jim....... I didn;t know about Magic Dragon but I'm going to attend Good Guys in September. Have you ever attended Eureka Springs Ark. I understand it may be the 3rd largest Vette show....I've never been.
I will order Heavy metal Tuesday and get started on my wheels.

How about "Pledging" the tires.
I actually did this yesterday at my mother in law's. I detailed her car and forgot to bring along some tire juice. I went in and looked under the sink...sure enough a can of Pledge.

Pledge like most, lasts until it gets wet. Before Armour All first surfaced via mail order many, many years ago Pledge was the ticket for glossing up your tires.

Off subject one more time. We are going to Good Guys in September in KC. We may go to Eureka Springs. Friends of ours with a 65 roadster went last year and said that there are Vettes as far as the eye can see. Polish those wheels. Jim
