Soapy water and a brush? Lemon Pledge? Windex? Sand blaster?
What is there that would require anything more than normal cleaning steps? You got a lot of greasy stuff, or is it just dirt? Mo info preez!

Use some brake cleaner on a rag to get the big/greasy stuff off first, then a general purpose cleaner should take care of the rest.

I'd try a degreaser in a spray bottle -- something like Simple Green, diluted Dawn dish detergent, I recently found out that Meguiar's makes a heavy duty degreaser also.

As a mechanic I have all sizes of bottle brushes, scrub brushes, sponges and such. The larger your armory, the better your chances of whippin' it ( I always say ).
