if any body wants some tips on polishing their rims just access the website address below. i do not at this time plan on expanding into the vette arena of polishing. but since i have one i am more than willing to help other vette owners shine up their rims. it really does make the car look sweet.

hi,

NO sealer. i keep them clean with Mothers Carnauba Cleaner Wax. if you want a sealer EverBrite product works real well. but almost any sealer applied will reduse the shine. there is a product call Zoop Seal that i have used that works great and takes NO shine away. but a bottle costs 100.00 and only last for at most two weeks. so use it in two weeks or throw it out. once applied to the rims it should protect for two years.

I use eagle 1 chrome and mag polish ,they come out just like that, you apply it with soft cloth, work it in till it turns almost black ,then wipe off with a clean soft cloth after it dries, walla!

yes that stuff and mothers mag is bascially the same very good quality. but you need to sand the small dents and pitting out to get a smooth finish. and unless you polish with a buff and compound the finish will look good but won't have the shine or finsh the same. buffing really brings out the shine. and is very very smooth finish which is easier to keep clean.

Vette(s): 1977 L-82 originally white/buckskin interior. Currently undergoing a frame-off resto. and modifications.YEEHAW!!!
Mark-thank you for the e-mail on the instructions for polishing the rims. I was doing everything except sanding them. I guess the most important step. I'll let you know how they turn out. They'll be my Pennsylvania (damn frozen) winter project.
