Cleaning Plastic Gauge Covers

What is everyone's recommendation on what to use to clean the clear plastic gauge covers on my 73? Thanks in advance.

I was told toothpaste works really well. It makes sense it has an extremely fine abrasive in it. I tryed it and when I was done the lens smelled minty fresh but it didn't take out the scratches like I had hoped. I will say though it was very clean.

I bought a plastic polish from a marine supply catalog. Worked great! Can't remember the name of the product though. It was actually called a scratch remover.

Your local Auto Zone, Advance Auto or whatever should have a variety of plactic polishes. Make sure you get one for CLEAR plastic though. I bought one called "Blue something..." It works great.

PLEXI-GLAS Polish. Go to a search engine, type in aircraft polish. Also, you can find what you need in Hemming's Publications.

I used a product from Meguair's for clear plastic. Worked pretty good. It's a brown liquid and does a pretty good job on minor scratches.

If you have some Mothers Chrome and Aluminum polish handy, give that a shot before you run out and buy something new. I used it on my old taillights and they came out pretty good.
