Vette(s): 1979 black with light tan interior. Purchased on EBAY out of Fort Myers Beach,FL. in Jan. 2003. Good driver--some mechanical problems.
Anyone know an easy to use product to brighten aluminum alloy wheels???? Ideal product would be spray on--wait a while--wash off??? Any such thing out there???
Thanks,

The spray on stuff is generally for cleaning, not for shining. I've used Mother's Aluminum & Mag Polish with great results on rims. A little elbow grease is required but you won't be dissapointed.

When I owned my 79, I spent a great deal of time trying to make the wheels brighter. I think my final attempt was a spray on aluminum wheel clear that had acid in it. Can't remember the name but it did make the wheels much brighter. I'm sure it takes off any protective finish that comes from the factory. I remember spraying and waxing them monthly to keep them bright. It may have been Mothers (www.mothers.com) or Maguire's (www.meguiars.com), can't remember.

You can use Mothers or go to this website. They have the best 3 step system that I have found
