I'm on my 3rd one for the '74... They don't like power surges of ANY kind...it screws then up, and they don't werk no mo. The first one, they warrantied...the others I had to pay for.
Seems like every time there is a electric power failure, or a lightning strike within 10 miles of here, it fries my tender...which I guess is a good name for them...they are quite tender...

It's still cheaper than a new battery every year.

I use a Battery Butler on my '29 Sedan.  Works great!  I'll be getting one for my Vette when it gets here.
