Supposed by research, '77 wheels had problem holding air alumin wheels had porous nature? any truth to problem and the "fix" by company?

Actually, the rims that were porous were the ones offered in 1973 and were manufactured by Kelsey Hayes. Only about 6 sets were installed on cars. However about 20 other sets are known to have been sold over the counter by Chevy before the problem was figured out. The other aluminium wheel were not released until the 1976 model year. The date codes will determine what year the wheels were made. Hope this helps.
