Chevrolet has circulated an internal memo to dealers outlining build‑out dates for the end of the 2026 model year, and we now have clarity on where the Corvette fits into that schedule.
According to the memo, the 2026 Corvette model year will officially end on Friday, May 29th, with the final order cycle (DOSP) opening on March 26th. That gives dealers and anyone still trying to secure a 2026 allocation a pretty tight runway heading into spring.
Because the build‑out date lands on a Friday, it’s reasonable to expect that 2027 Corvette production will begin on Monday, June 1st, or potentially even earlier if the plant adjusts its schedule. Chevrolet didn’t provide any official start‑up dates for the 2027 models, but historically the transition happens quickly once the prior model year closes.
Once more details surface I’ll share them here.

Vette(s):
SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe

If the model year change-over happens that quickly there must not be many changes in the works for MY 2027. Isn't there usually a gap in production of at least a couple of weeks when model years flip? To be honest I haven't been watching that closely.

With seven model years of the C8 out the door I have read speculation that the C9 might be coming soon. Time will tell I guess.
