Has anyone experience the Gas Cap failing to open for gas filling on the C7?

Vette(s): 1972 LT-1 convertible with factory air. 2017 Black Rose Grand Sport M7 convertible.
Is it locked closed or just sticking and you can get it open.
A lot of us C7 owners have put one of those plastic push in rivets in the locking hole in the gas cap to keep it from locking and not unlocking.
Car has to be unlocked to get the gas door open.
If your gas door is locked you can open up the wheel well lining in front of the rear tire and get to the locking mechanism. Or you can pop off the gas door cover and get it open that way. Unlike the C5 and C6, there is no pull tab in the trunk to manually open the gas door.
