Vette(s): Used to own a 1979 Corvette now owned by JB79
(Appears in AutoWeek): Chevrolet and the International Carwash Association warn against sending the all-new 2006 Corvette Z06 (AW, Sept. 5) through a conveyor-style automatic car wash. According to a notice included in the owner’s manual and elsewhere, the car’s 13.6-inch wide rear tires are too wide for the typical car wash conveyor and may be damaged by the equipment. We’d recommend hand washing your Corvette, but if you must auto-wash, pick a touchless wash without conveyors, Chevy says.

Who takes their Corvette through a Carwash, anyway?
