Headers maybe...but just a cat-back exhaust should not cause any issues. Have used Corsa on my last 3 Corvettes (over 50,000 miles combined) with no deleterious effects.

No worries.

I have Borla Type S system on my C6.  It has a very sweet mellow tone under load from about 1300 to 1700 RPM, but can barely be heard cruising down the road.  It sounds much more like a performance car.  It has not changed cruise mileage much, still getting 26 to 29 MPG.  There is no "Annoying Drone".  If anything, it is a bit too quiet, although it roars when I "really get on it".  Definitely glad I didn't go for the touring model.  If I had it to do over again, I might opt for the "Attack" model which is the loudest Borla system for C6's.

I went with an axle back system, as I am skeptical of any advantage to the cat back.  As far as concerns about adversely affecting engine longevity, I have zero concerns.  This is a very mild modification and frankly should have no more effect than the factory dual mode system.  Just a lot simpler, and I don't have to really "get on it" to enjoy the mellow tone.  Instead, I enjoy listening to all 440 ponies singing in a "symphony in 8 part harmony"
