Hello im new here and looking to buy a 2006 c6 coupe, can anyone tell me what are the possibilities that a car originaly from Massachusets that is for sale here in California has rust and what is the best way to find out.

Obviously there will not be any body panels with rust since all fiberglass or composite. Exhaust is stainless - so should not be issues there. For other "metal" parts, best way is to put up on a rack. But doubt there will be anything of concern. Most don't drive these cars in the snow or salt covered roads if avoidable. Would just have a mechanic put on a rack (be careful not to damage rocker panels), and visually check it over.

Good point. Most northeast drivers do not drive Corvettes in the winter. I kept my 2013 coupe in storage in my garage from about Christmas to mid March in Doylestown, PA (SE PA). I now have a 2013 convertible and have moved to southern Delaware and drive it as long as no brine treatment is present on the roads. After a good rain the brine or salt is washed away.
I agree that it would be a cheap insurance to have the undercarriage inspected on a rack.

Pay for a thorough inspection before purchasing.

Good point. An independent inspector will examine the car for condition and all systems, take photos, and provide a comprehensive report. Good insurance which will cost about $200.
