JUST SWAPPED MY 1999 (150,000 MILES ) FOR A 2005 COUPE. I'VE NOTICED A SQUEEKING/RATTLE IN THE REAR OF THE CAR.
MY OLD VETTE HAD A SIMILAR NOISE AND I FOUND IT TO BE THE SWAY BAR BUSHINGS. ANY THOUGHTS THAT THIS COULD ALSO BE THE CASE HERE.

Vette(s): 2009 Corvette Coupe Cyber Grey 6 speed manual
I have a 2009 Cyber Grey 6 speed corvette with 2, 600 miles. I, too, hear an (intermittent) rear end rattle sound emanating from the left rear of my car. Has anyone had similar problems? If so, what do you recommend I do to resolve this problem? I initially thought the caliper may be sticking because the first time I heard the rattle I had backed out of my driveway and when I put the car in first gear and started forward I heard the noise. However, after driving the car for less than a mile the noise seemed to disappear.
However, when I was driving the car several days ago, the sound reappeared. I had been driving the car for about 30 miles when this happened. Please advise. Frank

I have the original exhaust equipment. I should note, however, it is not uncommon that our car is parked in our garage for 2-3 weeks before we drive it next. It is approximately 11 months old and it has less than 2,600 miles on it. My original thought was the left rear caliper was sticking. As I stated earlier this is an intermittent problem because 90% percent of the time the noise is not noticeable.
It is the petty little things like a rattle that give me heartburn. If I can obtain a successful resolution, I will let you know. Frank

I agree it could be a sticking clutch in the rear end, they have a different additive for the rear end lube. But it could be a bushing in the rear suspension. Or it could be a rear bearing in the torque tube with bell housing, that runs from the engine in the front to the transmission in the rear. They replaced my entire torque tube with a redesigned one. All of this happened with my 2005 corvette that I purchased new and still own.
