rattle

loud rattle from plastic top front attachment around latches and front area. locks have been tightened numerous times by dealer,, finally changed vertcal pins in top STILL RATTLES WORSE THAN MY TEN TEAR OLD PICK -UP
it almost seems as if the rubber gasket on top of windshied is not beefy enough to keep top from rattling

2006 with 22000 miles

I have a squeak when my top is on and the windows are up. I had the same issue on my 2005 and now on my 2007 - suspect design problem. Dealer can find the problem, I only have 4000 miles on my vette.

I had a bunch of little pops and crackels comming from my 07 top after 3000 miles or so, it first started when the car sat for a few days, then it was all the time....my solution,.... take the top off and apply a liberal amount of silicon spray with a rag on all rubber seals, then apply petroleum gelly to the pins and the plastic seat where the pins slide into,....in a couple of drives the problems is gone...my theory is the noise is made by the pins rubbing against the dry plastic seat, I've been noise free since.

have your dealer check this bulletin. Creaking noise from lift off panel/05.08.59.003E. some dealers have no ides where to look.

The pin seats were replaced on my '07's creaky, popping top panel. This was completed by a dealer under the bulletin. Everything was fine and quiet for about a week. That was last July. The creaky, popping noise is worse than ever. Most likely I will take it back to the dealer again just to make sure a warranty report is generated so the factory can track the issue.

I agree that an ample supply of silicon spray lube may prove to be the solution for the short term. GM needs to make these parts with something like Duralon, a lubricating type of bushing.

 When I park my 2008 ZO6 in the garage after a ride, a crackling nose is apparent when I get out of the car and the noise continues until the car cools off. Does anyone else have this problem and do you know what causes the crackling sound?

Gm has a recall on several Corvette's to replace the roof, the recall will go into effect Jan 2010.

I don't think the problem comes from the roof because a ZO6 does not have a removable roof

Preston - I have the same thing. It is coming from the exhaust. My opinion is that it is the metal from the exhaust cooling down since it stops after about 3-4 minutes. My wifes HHR SS does exactly the same thing.
