Got my C6 on March 28. The Paddle Shift/automatic was a little notchy coming out of PARK. Often I had to wiggle the Shift Handle to go from PARK and on to Drive or Sport mode. Last week, when leaving for work, I put the car into DRIVE. As I pulled from my driveway onto the street, I attempted to select the SPORT Mode. The shifter would not move into SPORT. I soon realized it would not go to Neutral or any other position.
I move to the curb and stopped; trying to force the shifter to select other than DRIVE.
I then tried to stop the engine. But
being stuck in DRIVE, the ignition switch would not stop the engine. Now what; sure, just engage the emergency brake and leave a note on the windshield to please don't take my running two month old Corvette!!!
I called my boss at work and reported that I would be late. Drove directly to the Chevrolet dealer. Service was not yet open, but an employee there kindly opened the garage and allowed me inside. They took over from there. The next day, with new selector/shift linkage flown in, they repaired the problem. Now it shifts smoothly from PARK.
Hoping for the best.
Has anyone had this much fun with this problem?

21,000 miles and no problems here. Maybe just an isolated case of a bad part. Glad your back on the road.
