Vette(s): yellow 2007 C6. Borla Exhaust, racing air filter, coolers for all fluids save washer, Z06 suspension.
I ofter miss shifts from second into third in my '07 C6. Once it is missed finding the gear is a pain. This usually happens when I am trying to shift quickly.

replace shifter with hurst or other high quality unit

Vette(s): no vette at present. Had a 64 327-365 red conv. and a 69 427-435 white conv.

I have this problem also, Did'nt know if it was me or the car, Now i know i need to change shifter.

Fortunately, I have not had any shifting problems with my 2008 ZO6.  Shifting has been very accurate and smooth.
