Vette(s): Used to own a 1979 Corvette now owned by JB79
A member emailed me asking how to find the manufacture date of his C6. I'm guessing it is on a body tag somewhere. Can you please reply to say where it can be found?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Manufacture date can be obtained from any (willing) Chevy dealer - inquire to their service department - will need the VIN. As an aside, I believe C5's have build documents stuffed in the front of the frame rail.

Vette(s): Ron Fellows edition, Daytona 2007 Pace Car markings; Artic White, convertible.
There is a plate on the driver's door which has the manufacture date. Look towards the bottom of the door. For example, mine is 12/06 which of course stands for December of 2006. On the VIN number there is a digit that confirms the model year (07) in my case.

The tag on the door will give the month/year of production, but not the day, if they want specifics. This same tag has been placed on GM cars for years and years...it's even still readable on most of them!
I can read the tag on my '74 easily, but the tag on the '85 is deteriorated enough that it's a little hard to read, as are that tags on both of the Cadillacs. They just don't make 'em like they used to...

Contact the National Corvette Museum. I don't remember the lady's name, but you can just ask when you call.

I gave her the VIN number (this was several years ago), and she called me back within a day or so with the date my car rolled off the assembly line (Nov 2, 2006).
