Gas cap broke

Anyone else have their gas cap quit functioning properly. It no longer will turn on normally and seal the gas intake. It just keeps turning and sit there loose. This also results in the engine light being on.
I guess it's time to go to the dealer. Arghh!!

ive gotten three
when tightening only go one click this will tighten it without stripping

You can mark me down for one new gas cap. Same symptoms as yours several days past the 36 month warranty on a 2006 Z06. I'll be renewing that warranty!

 I also had the gas cap problem  shortly after I took deliverly of my new vette in june 06  back then the dealer said they had an updated cap and put one on no problem sience  if you have had it replaced several times maybe they are just getting rid of old inventory or they dont know about the updated one   its possible you have another reason for the leak like a dent on the filler neck  from the filler nozzel banging agenst it  ?
