Just replaced my GY SC's(23,000 miles). Had 4/32's tread left on all 4 except the inside edges of the fronts. They were slick. Had read a thread on another forum that the factory setting for the front alignment is why this happens. I guess its set to where the car drove the best......... |headscratch|

set the front camber to "0" and this will cure the inside edge wear problem and unless you road race it will not evect the handling.

I spoke to the GoodYear Engineering dept. about this problem some time back and I was told do do the following. Set the cold tire pressure at 32 lbs and monitor it frequently. Tire pressures will change due along with climate conditions. The recommended pressure by the factory is for ride only and not tire wear. I didn't notice any difference the ride or handling of the car and my tires are not showing any signs of uneven wear.

Will they reset "0 camber" at the dealer, or will they balk at the procedure ? I've noticed, or felt, tire scrubbing when entering and exiting my driveway and with slow sharp turns. Otherwise, the car handles wonderfully with no problems. Or, do I have to go to an alignment shop, who I don't know, and try to explain the situation.

Thanks Motorman ! I'll be looking into it shortly. I don't feel like shelling out a fortune for new tires any too soon. My C6 gets driven daily and I'd like to make the rubber last as long as I can. I'm a fairly conservative driver, but, I also like to stand on it once in a while. |biggrin|

I have 15000 miles on my 2005 and, just like "Rusler", also find the front tires fighting each other on slow turns. They don't appear to track well on turns making me question if this apparent misalignment on turns only is normal. If this lack of tracking is normal, no adjustment to the front end is going to stop the tire scrubbing.

Has anyone gotten an answer from Chevrolet about this?
