A friend of mine from GM pulled into the driveway the other day with a precision red C6 coupe, automatic trans. He let me get behind the wheel for a test drive!
Although it was a short drive in the neighborhood (25-35 mph zone) I realized how smooth and quiet the C6 is over the C5. Base seats were very comfortable with firm side bolsters.
Can't wait till mine arrives!

I'd be interested in knowing if any sound decibel level instruments would indicate the same thing, especially at 25-35 mph. I still remember reading about the 65 Ford that "tested" quieter than the same year Rolls Royce.

I went on the Hot Rod Power Tour this year, and there was a guy that worked on machines in the plant. He got to take a C6 coupe on the drive becuase they wanted test miles. Atleast i got to see the red interior that i ordered

Dear Zippy - wow, that is so cool. You are one lucky guy. I think good things happen to nice people (that's you, BTW). Thanks for letting us know about your test drive (drool drool). Love you a bunch.

How does one become friends with someone at GM with the means to take out an unreleased Corvette??!?!?
Can I be his friend too!?

He's a neighbor of mine. Living near Detroit has it's advantages.....a number of the Big 3 auto execs & managers live nearby. For example: some of the Ford family are within 2 miles of me....Elfie Duntov is a mile from here, the editor of Autoweek Magazine is about a mile away, Anita Baker (singer) is less than 2 miles away. When Lee Iacocca was a VIP at Chrysler his mansion was two miles away.
