Vette(s): Used to own a 1979 Corvette now owned by JB79
Word from the NCM is that around mid-day, they were contacted by the Corvette assembly plant that production was halted on the C6 due to an unspecified problem with the manual transmissions. There was no word on when the production would start up again except that it would not resume until a new shipment of transmissions arrived, probably Friday 10/8.
UPDATE 10/6/04 9:39pm EST:
It appears that production WILL resume on Thursday 10/7.
According to the Corvette Assembly Plant Employee Hotline:
PRODUCTION *WILL* RUN ON THURSDAY OCTOBER 7th, ALL EMPLOYEES ARE TO REPORT AT THEIR NORMAL REPORTING TIME.
UPDATE 10/7/04:
From NCM-Central Newsletter:
Corvette Assembly Plant Up and Running.
We have received several calls regarding the Corvette Assembly Plant tours and building process. The Corvette Assembly Plant is running and all tours are still on schedule. Deliveries are still taking place at the Museum and business is as usual.
Please post any more information here as you receive it. I will do the same.

My c6 was pushed back from 10/4 to 10/25, does anyone know if this is due to a problem with the plant or have any other idea why the slowdown, when there is so much demand?
