c6 - fuel pump problems

I have new C6 with approx 1500 miles. The car experienced some intermittent starting problems that has been traced to a faulty fuel pump. Needless to say I am not to happy. I have been waiting for a part for 2.5 weeks now and am dissipointed in the wait time to get a new part. Has anyone else experienced this type of problem?

I have just over 6,000 miles on mine, and no trouble at all.

It sems to me that something as common as a fuel pump should be more available. Do you know if GM switched to a new pump for the C6?

No I have not even been able to get that info from service dept as of yet. I am requesting a more direct contact since they keep refering to the regional manger who has yet not responded. I am glad to hear that this is not a more sytemic problem as of yet for the C6.Also the replacement process for a fuel pump involves removal of the transmission so that access to the gas tank can be made. Hope no problems occur due to this....

There is a new new fuel pump in the works for C6 and C5 according to some I've heard from.
