I've found the solution to the 'chipmunk' look here. Its worth a try.. I know these guys are on the CorvetteForum. Im in California, its just a Fix it ticket, but its still a pain in the ass to HAVE to have this ugly front plate on.

Their website says ... "As with all Corvettes, you need to be very careful when pulling into a parking spot with a curb!"
I had previous concerns over similar situations ... including pulling into a driveway, or other area with a dip in the road ... including speed bumps. If someone uses velcro ... they could potentially / unknowingly LOOSE their license plate.
Regardless ... it's a much better looking location!

Better looking, but it is still ashame that GM didn't create a better spot for it, like on the C5s.
Did anyone ever hear an explaination as to why GM did what they did with the C6 plate bracket?

GM was lobbing the Feds to remove the Front plate requirement on a national level. Most states are hit and miss on enforcement, others are hard core

CORVETTE CALENDAR CAR
I live in New York State (the land of laws) and have taken my chances to live without the front plate.
I told my dealer not to install the plate holder when my car arrived and they complied with my wishes.
I keep the plate behind the drivers seat and am prepared to put it in the windshield if stopped.
I can't see paying $55K for a wonderful automobile and having it look like sh__t!!
