help with tech 2 in UK

I am Eurovettes a  corvette business in UK - I have a tech 2 with up to date s/ware but the candi module I have will not allow connect to C6 vettes - admittedly this is an import module from China  (genuine gm tech 2) - but is it common these do not connect, the led flashes when connected - and there is a circuit board in the unit

any ideas??
