Many have and still use the eliminators.
Some say its loud, too loud, and some like the sound, they arent bothered by the loudness at all.

I personally dont have any, but have heard many...they are great at idle, great when hitting the gas pedal....but...personally, extremely loud just regular driving.

They also seem to attract LEO's under mild acceleration.

I wouldnt do it for a DD, but I would for a "toy".

dont need them on mine as it has a great rumble on it when idling. wife thinks it's too loud but everyone thinks it sounds great. i bought a used set off ebay and they are still in the box they were sent in.

I did it to mine about 2 years ago and I love it! I actually took mine to a muffler shop and just had them put a piece of pipe in place of the mufflers and reuse the old tips. Same concept but only cost me about $20.

I agree with strats-n-vettes.  What is loud to one is music to another.  I have found that the one of the points to whether it is to loud in the interior will depend on the vehicle being automatic or stick shift.  I have FlowMasters on my C4 sounds nice.  I put Borla's on my C5 coupe and the interior drone was awful, then put them on the "Z" and they sound great.  Just ones opinion.

When I bought my 88 the muffler eliminators were on it. I like the sound/rumble. The pup/main cats are still there. I do get a resonance at a certain speed, but it's not too bad....

I'm pretty much sold on these things and planning on picking up a set on the 1st. My question is,besides ebay where is the best priced place to pick up a set of these eliminators? Just the black with chromed tips? Seems ecklers has the best price($170 iirc),anyone know of a better deal? I wonder how much the sound would increase with a high flow cat (leaving pre-cats in place till I can save up for some nice lt's).

Thanks Smile .
