H pipe in the exhaust of 1995 vette

My 95 vette has flow master exhaust system. I want to know the results of replacing the straight muffler section located under the center of the car with straight pipe. What is the function of the h piping? The existing rear resonators were gutted and straight thru . I want the car louder What is the source of exhaust resonance?
