Hey Folks!
In the process of upgrading the exhaust system on my '89 Convertible.
Trying to make the choice between Flowmaster and Magnaflow catbacks.
All feedback and suggestions would be appreciated!!!

I've heard that drone at cruising speed can be an issue on our C4's with some aftermarket exhausts -- so I went with Corsa (Sport) on my '94 and like it a lot. To me it was worth the extra coin.

I Like Flow masters, because of how Chambered Muffs give a cammed up sound .....Even on a stock motor. Magna flows do give a really nice growl though. I didn't do either on my 1988 C4 ,I choose to delete the muffs & run though the Cats ...... I'm very happy with the results , I get a growl with no drone & I feel the difference in the torque.

Yes I am , I purchased a pair of Flowmasters 40 series to install on it , My Muffler shop guy, Told me his sister has a C4 & He had eliminated her stock muffs And it sounded great. He made me a deal , If I didn't like the way it sounded he'd redo my whole exhaust on the house. We already have 2 Cats....... The 3rd is more of a Resonator ..Legally in California I can cut it off & I might @ some point . But it sounds friggin mean especially once I drop the throttle .....It has a nice low rumble @ idle. The guys in my Corvette Car Club ( Vetted ) have C5's & C6 & they love the way mine sounds. They eliminated theirs but they have awful gurgles @ Idle .....But theirs sound great @ W.O.T.

I have Magna flow's on both of my vettes,but I find the coupe has more of a drone at cruising speed unless I have my rear hatch window propped open.My roadster doesn't have the drone even with the top down.
I love the look and sound from them.

I bought the Corvette Central Magnaflow mufflers with the LT1 tips for my 1989 along with a new y pipe...had a great sound, not loud on the inside, but sounded like a V8 on the outside....I was impressed so on my 1996 I went back to Corvette Central for their replacement Magnaflow mufflers with the correct tips and had a muffler shop install the Magnaflow x-pipe replacing the stock resonator...again quiet enough inside but nice sound outside. I didn't want something to rattle the windows when I started it up so I went conservative....my neighbor has a C5 with the SLP Loud-Mouth setup and every time he starts the car animals and small children run for cover because of the loud bark...that stuff is fun for awhile but not for everyday

OK... u still have the resonator between the cats, and no mufflers. I wanna go to dual exhaust from cats to tips, eliminating the resonator altogether. I'll let ya know, but, first, I'll do what u did [keeping resonator and single pipe in and out of resonator

I have 195 c4 conv 6sp with Magnaflow cat backs. Sounds good, no drone. With top down, can still carry on a conversation. And they look good

I haven't heard of anyone using a Billy Boat exhaust. I have the 3" cat back Billy Boat and I love the sound. Seems to add some power also but have never had it dyno tested.
