Thanks for the link WG -- I'll check 'em out. Can't go $1800 at least not right now but something a little more moderately priced might do.

I also was considering the black tips on my Polo Green with black corvette lettering. Should be a nice fit.

I think you'll find American Racing Headers are 1-3/4" ss w/ 3" collectors complete to the end of the cats (including s-pipes bringing them together past the tranny)  whereas stainless works and most others are 1-5/8" and stop at the header outlets (so you still need the cats).

Thanks man -- I'm kinda concerned about drone otherwise I'd consider Magnaflows.

Yeah Corsa is expensive but might be better for me.

Thanks, I'm startled at the cost of headers and piping back to the cats...almost as much as the Corsa exh.

I had my LG headers ceramic coated and they look like crap now all discoloured -- I'm told it's "normal" due to heat cycles and such. I was hoping they'd stay nice looking. Almost wished I'd wrapped them instead.

Not 100% yet -- got til April -- provided it stops snowing.....

You can renew your coated headers with most aluminum polishes. Cermacoat even makes a special one for theirs but I don't really see a difference.  Of course it only works on the coating. I give mine a once over in the spring but, still nothing like stainless for luster and longevity.

I've heard that of header wrap b4 -- It does sound like that's not the answer either.

I hadn't even considered the wrap burning due to oil leakage/seapage. Makes sense.

The ceramic coating on my LG's is on my '11GS -- I was told "they all do that" ... Not had a chance to check out anyone else's yet. The installer is reputable, tho he did send the headers out for coating.  I'm inclined not to get it done again ...... at least not thru the same place.

After hearing about your headers I'm very disappointed in mine.  I can't believe that the different engine and year could be that different.....Live and learn.

Headers are on the shelf right now mainly due to cost. Seems including cats the system is dang near the cost of the cat back Corsa.(both installed).
 They're probably very good and yield some hp and tq but cost in a bit onerous. Maybe next year. I can't do it all at once.
Everything else (and I mean everything) has been replaced and the car is low mileage anyway so lucky there.

A Sport Corsa, bushings (prothane), and manual engine cooling fan control, and auto trans cooler along with the P-Zero 285's I scored is enough for this spring.

BTW -- I understand that 285's are ok on the 8.5" OEM front rims, -- Opinion? -- the Rears are 9.5 and 285's from the factory. Got such a good deal on the p-zeros I couldn't resist. They're new on refinished '88's -- got for $1.2k
Hate the runflats -- they're too dang hard.
