XM Radio

Hey, ya'll!  You've been so helpful with other "issues" I thought to come here first this time!  I was interested in putting an XM radio in my Vette.  The model I found is the XM Snap In-Vehicle Radio.  Any suggestions, comments, advise, etc.?

don't know that exact model but on my 90 i had put an aftermarket stereo that was xm ready. worked great but i wound up canceling the service as it was getting too expensive and i don't ride in the vehicles that much. the cd player is great for me. if it a portable unit that you can hook up to an outside source that would be great. maybe you can post a link where we can see the model you are thinking about.

looks like a great little unit for a car. the mount on it is a great idea as with others it was usually a pain on where to set them. this model it looks like is geared more for a car but if you get the right adapters you can use it anywhere. good luck with you decision and let us know how you make out.

I was actually thinking of just running the wire under my dash cover and laying the antenne on my dash near the window.  Or running the wire to the back area some where and using double stick tape to mount the antenna on the rear window near the top.  Don't know yet.  Just wanted some advise / feedback / suggestions.   

under the dash cover would be the easiest. some have a mini antenna so it wont stick out and not too many people would even notice it. doing it the rear you would have to worry about concealing the wire. if that isn't an issue than you can mount it on the trim inside the rear window. good luck.

oops hit the wrong button.  I have sirius subscription on my Chrysler town & Country.  It is pricey
but worth it on long trips.  Don't ever have to lose local stations and find another.  On my 96?  I don't
ever listen to the radio, just love listening to the sound of them MagnaFlows! ;)

rxpip - yeah, most of the time I would rather listen to that rumble too!  That's why we drive Corvettes, huh?  But when I take a run over to California I like tunes and having to deal with CDs just isn't good; to me any way.

Then you'll really like satelite radio.  You never have to change a station.  Continuous tunes of
any genre. 

rita, don't get me wrong, satellite radio is great with all the choices you have. i loved it when i had it. the only thing is that i am not in my car long enough to listen to it. i usually burn my own cds so i have the variety of music. another thing is my stereo can play mp3s so if i burn a disc with all mp3s it would take a long time to get from start to finish. i can guarantee though that it will be hard to listen to a regular radio station after satellite radio.
