Advice taken Trooper. We ride lower than many other cars out there and my concern is not being seen. I've been using my parking and fog lights as daytime running lights.

Did you see the picture of the Semi!?! How the hell did he survive!? The cabin of the Vette looks to be in a lot better shape.  Did the diver of the Vette get thrown out? Is that how he died?

Yeah he was ejected from the vehicle.  If he was wearing a seat belt, would've been so much better.  The cabin seems to be in good shape, and his passenger was okay.

I can attest to that statement, Trooper....I ran the big dogs for years back in the day, and they are just about as flimsy as they can possibly be anymore. Dadgum rock thrown from the vehicle ahead can go right thru the body on em....

And yeah..it's a damn shame to loose a driver in an accident that could have been avoided. ......

Driver of this 89 C-4 was trying to pass and ended up tangling with a Semi.

What's the "short story" description of what happened, Trooper?

Looking at the two pics, your description makes little sense. "Passing" on a divided 4-lane? That semi looks like it hit something a hell of a lot heavier than a Corvette. Or the Corvette was parked. The Corvette was hit hard from behind. Not clipped in a passing maneuver. It also (judging from skid marks) appears to have been knocked across the median into oncoming traffic. Once again, evidence of a helluva difference in relative velocity between the semi and the Corvette at time of impact. Although driver-less cars tend to travel a long distance from point of impact because there's no one in the seat to push on the brakes.

The Corvette was traveling much slower than the semi at time of impact. I'm gonna guess and say the Semi could be at fault. Possibly texting or asleep.

 Or a case of road-rage? ( The damage is to the LH side of the Corvette. A pass on the right? The semi driver was on his phone for miles, oblivious to the line of traffic behind him in the #1 lane, and wouldn't return to the #2 lane to let faster traffic pass?) The Corvette passed the semi, and stood on the brakes? Or passed on the right, pulled back in and ran out of room because the "hyndai" was not the only obstruction?  If these are the only two vehicles involved, there was a tremendous transfer of energy from the semi to the Corvette. Could only have happened with the semi coming from behind, at a much higher velocity.


What's the short version of "what you can tell legally"?

CROSSVILLE — A Crossville area man was killed in a horrific three-vehicle wreck on I-40 Tuesday afternoon in a crash that backed up weekend pre-holiday traffic for miles in both directions. Two others were injured and one person walked away from the crash unhurt.

...wrote in his report that the senior Davis was driving a 1989 Chevrolet Corvette east bound and was within sight of the Peavine Rd. exit when he collided with a 2007 Peterbilt tractor-trailer rig driven by LaGraff.

The impact sent the Corvette spinning out of control and backwards through the median. The Chevrolet then impacted with the second truck's trailer, causing the car to come to rest in the west-bound lanes. The first truck came to rest in the emergency lane on the east-bound side with the second truck coming to rest in the emergency lanes on the east-bound side.

The senior Davis was ejected from the Corvette and landed in the left lane of west-bound I-40.

why are you putting this stuff on ?  i see alot of stuff happen out there however i don't want to show everyone. this stuff is negitive. yes it's a shame that people die. i personaly want to remain positive in life. theres anough stuff out there to drag you down.  why not show positive things. such as a c4 owner winning a race or a show holding his trophy or flag.  just my point of veiw.
