i am pissed. on the way home from work i was hit in the 90 corvette. some idiot was tailgaiting me and stopped for a light and this guy was right on my tail. the guy in front made a right turn on red and the light changed at the same time. the idiot behind me starts blowing his horn so i flipped him the finger and proceeded very slow across the street. i see him weaving like he was going to try and pass me. as it was an intersection and one lane i figured i annoyed the guy enough and started to speed up and he did try to pass me. he was in the left turn lane of the opposing traffic. i couldn't believe it and he cut me off hitting the front of the corvette and sending me into a spin ( it was raining here and roads were wet). the right side hit a fire hydrant and i kept going around and wound up on the grass and side walk after spinning 1 1/4 times.
as luck would have it a cop was passing and stopped and there were two guys there as witnesses that saw the guy hit my car. i thanked the two guys that stayed and told the cop what happenned, as in a lot of cases people don't want to get involved and leave. they even told the cop this guy was an idiot. the cop issued him a ticket. i would have given him about four.
now i have to wait for the police report and then get this guys insurance company to fix it.

At least the jerk didn't just take off...I sure hope he actually HAS insurance!
Here in Dallas county, they just enacted a law for idjits that don't have insurance...if ya ain't got it, ya ain't got yer friggin car anymore, either! If you get stopped for ANYTHING, the cop computers can access insurance files to verify you do or do not have insurance....I guess they got tired of scumbags printing their own cards, so now they can actually check right there.
I hope it works out...how bad is the car?

OUCH...!!! Glad you're ok and the jerk got caught as well as ticketed. That doesn't make the hurt of crunched fiberglass any less but hopefully the damage isn't too serious and can be repaired easily.
Having an officer witness the happening as well as a couple of other passerbys certainly was a good thing!

thanks joel. the front bumper is all screwed up. the hood iscracked across the front and headlights are a bit twisted. the front quarter panel has a chunk of the fiberglass broke of and yo can see the metal frame. the left has the mark of where he hit me.
here in jersey if you get caught driving without insurance besides your car getting impounded you get to spend some time in jail. i think he saw the cop and decided he better not leave or else i think he would have. hope by the time this gets done his insurance doubles from the surcharges.
will take a pic tomorrow and post it so you can see it. what makes it even worse is that it happened about a half mile from my house.

Wow!! That really sux!! On the bright side, YOU are ok!
Question for you... and I'm not trying to put you down here... but do you think this guy did what he did because you flipped him the bird? I am fearful of giving anyone on the road any kind of look or finger or reaction from me about anything, because I'm too worried that some wacko is behind the wheel and would pull something like this or worse.
Glad you're ok. I'm amazed the jerk stayed there.

thanks guys. adam i think he did it because he was plain stupid. i flipped him the bird and he flipped one back at me. the guy was in a hurry and didn't like anyone in front of him. i don't drive like a little old lady but i am a safe driver. all he had to do was back off a little bit. and everything would have been fine. bet he was jealous that i had a corvette and he didn't.

Maybe you should consider moving...I hear that most accidents happen within a mile of home...
Sorry...I know it ain't funny, but...I couldn't help it....

Seriously, dang, sorry this happened Eddie, but we're glad you're ok, and doubly glad the jerk got busted. Did you have the opportunity to 'discuss' the incident with him directly? I can't imagine what I would do if someone hit my Vette - Cops there or not
Let me get this straight, you drive your Corvette in the rain!?!? I always thought they would melt!

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Everytime I take either Vette for a spin, I have some yo-yo on my a$$, it's worse with the Torch Red 99. What they don't grasp is how fast these cars can stop, I drive safe also but it is always an experience to drive a Vette. In the old days someone saw you driving a car like a Vette and said to themselves,"Someday, I'll have one of those", These days, they just want to take it from you.......
