My C4 convertible currently has the stock Delco Bose gold series  stereo and its about done now i know its was the bomb in its day but mine has prolly seen its last days.I will keep it to go with the  car if i decide to sell it but my question is whats a good upgrade for a convertible and i will prolly have a total upgrade,my concern is with it being a convertible and god forbid that the top is cut open and the stereo is well gone(another topic for discussion) im just trying to get ideas...thanks

I have a Pioneer Avic w/GPS and bluetooth and 4 Infinity Kappa 6.5 speakers and I'm pleased with the sound quality. I also ran new speaker wire (the OE wire is very small because each Bose speaker has its own amp) and a adapter harness to get the antenna cable from behind the pass. seat to the new head unit

Depending on the size of the new radio and speakers you may have to do some modifications to make them fit. I had to modify the front speaker boxes and a bracket behind the radio. For me this was a weekend project using the better part of two days. There are many double din radio choices out there that will fit in your C4....it really depends on the features you want and how much you want to spend.

Vette(s): 1989 Red,convertible,sold an 78 Black coupeSilver Anniversary after 3 years.
I contacted Crutchfield online and they came up with a no-cut installation w/adapters for wireing & ant. plus a couple of speakers that will fit the bill all for less than $300. Just so I wont loose any sleep at night. Hope this helps....Joe

If you are worried about theft leave the stock one in the car and goto custom autosound and buy a hidden system they have some very nice one's with remotes and all. and they hide them so you can't find them in the car hence if someone looks in car stock radio ho hum but turn up the jams and it hammers the bass.
