Hey All,
New guy here.  I just bought a 1990 Corvette with 40000 miles, like new, I am thrilled.  Many years ago, I had a 1984 which I bought new.  I notice that my 1990 only has two Bose speakers in the back.  I am almost sure my 1984 had speakers in the door?  Is my 90 equipped with a lesser sound option or were some speakers removed somewhere along the line??  My 84 would blow the roof off, which is probably a major contributer to my deafness today!  Just curious, and thanks.

The front speakers are "hidden" behind the door panels, in the same area that they were on your other car. the design of the panel hides them better, tho. This assumes that the car had the Bose system to start with, of course. The non-Bose system would have the speakers in the upper dash panel.

on a 90 the front speakers were moved out of the doors and into the side wall of the "tub" area.if you look almost straight down from where they would have been in the door you should see them. gm used the rug as the speaker cover which to me killed a lot of the sound. when i replace the rug that covers the door sill i removed the rug from speaker cover frame and recovered the grille with regular speaker fabric.
