Well...it ain't good, but it could be a lot worse, eh? Certainly hope there's no structural damage. How long you reckon before you hear anything from the insurance?

Well, that sucks.   Cry  But it could be worse, hope everything with the ins. company goes smooth.  Find a good Vette shop that will fix it right and you'll be good as new. jimmymack2009-03-30 15:06:00

I agree with JIMMYMACK about finding a repair shop to fix it, if you are so inclined. The damage shown in the pictures brought a tear to my eye but I think I would attempt to fix it myself. The thought of someone else working on my Vette  would make me lose sleep. I'm kinda weird that wayBig smile

In California, with our repair rates, and insurance adjusters perceptions, the estimate to repair would exceed the cars value. It's a "total". The owner would be offered the opportunity to buy it back for about 15% of the settlement, and then he can fix it himself, or whatever.  But now it will have a "Salvage Title".

Hopefully, if you like the car, your adjuster will work with you.

allstate sent their adjustor a couple days ago and he estimated the damage at 6500.00. he said he thoroughly went over it and he said by his limits it is repairable. told me if i get it to the shop and they find anything major which he might have missed then it might be totalled. i tend to believe that he did a thorough job as he told me he has restored a 69 vette so he knows what to look at and appreciates what the car means to meThumbs Up.

their is a body shop near me that works on vettes and i have heard a lot of good things about his work. hopefully their may be somethings that the estimator included that doesn't need to be changed and i can get him to paint the whole car. now the only thing is i hope allstate doesn't drag its feet in taking responsibility and pays up.Thumbs Up
