I'm a newbie to Corvettes and I'm starting to look at C4 Vettes basically 1989 to 1992...What should I be looking for as I check them out? What questions should I be asking the owner? I'm a car guy and have a '62 Tbird and I think I picked up the fever when I went to the Corvette museum in Kentucky. We were doing a Lemons race at the track there

If you can, I would suggest you look to 1995 - 1996. These had been the best of the C4's. I had an '89 and '95, the '89 gave me trouble while I had none with the '95. If you go with a '92 -94, make sure the previous owner replaced the OptiSpark replaced, on original builds, it sat below the water pumps seep hole, if it gets water in it could cause problem, Corvette Magazine says can cost $1500 to repair/replace. Suggest you get a copy of the Corvette Magazine July 2017 issue if you can - it has a 4th Generation buyers guide, Lots of good info.
