New Kenwood Stereo

I just replaced the non-Bose radio system in my 1995 base coupe with a Kenwood system. I tried to eliminate the flashing "sys" message by using the two resisters method posted on this forum, and in the Corvette tech memo, but still get the flashing message. The tech memo covers the 1990-1993 model years, not specifically the 1995 model. I'm very tempted to ignore the message, but thought I'd look for more ideas before I give up. Any other ideas? Can I reprogram the CCM?
