Vette(s): 1990 6 speed coupe, steel blue

I have a 1990 coupe,Steel blue, 6 speed. The registry says 813 were built this color. Does anyone know how many of them were 6 speeds? I'm having a helluva time with statefarm over the value of mine, it burned to the ground along with my 1990 Superglide and 1998 Tacoma 4x4 four days ago.

I plan replacing my vette but probably wont find one as fine as mine..Thanks to all, I,ll be intouch

I'm sure your car was as nice as you say. And you are right that there was 813 Steel Blue were produced. As to how many were equipped with the 6 speed is a lot harder to determine.  However, the colour, transition, although desirable, will not make much difference in the value of the car. Remember there is a lot of good quality C4s in the world. Now if it was a Callaway or special car of some sorts this will effect values a lot more.
When insuring a car like this, it is always good to have replacement value figured ahead of time.
The following link is to Hagerty's Price Guide : I think you will find this is not too far off the mark.

Enter your VIN in this site. If there are records present, it will say so. Compnine has the ability to show how many of a particular option were included in your year/model. You can filter input RPO's to get the "5 of 500" type results. I believe you have to pay for the service to get the RPO stats vs you car. During the introduction of compnine, these were free.

You can also get an estimate using percentages, and straight-line distribution. 8,101 6-speeds is 35% of total 1990 production. 34% of 813 Steel Blues is 276.

Compnine will give you the actual number each of steel blue 6-speed coupes or convertibles (coupe or convertible is in the VIN). But I'm pretty sure you have to buy $15 a month subscription to get the option reports. Call them. I know they will make accommodations for special requests.  I was involved in such a deal when we bought the report for all Syclones, Typhoons and SonomaGT's a couple of years ago for documentary purposes on SyTy.net

Sorry to hear of your loss JJ -- Good luck with the insurance and subsequent replacement -- As Brian says there are many really nice C4's available, and lots of them on this forum as you probably have seen.

Out of the all the vettes built that year about 8000 are 6spd. manual. but no info on the split of the Steel Blue Metallic.

Welcome and I hope 2014 is a better year for you.

C.

Dave is correct.  According to the Corvette Black Book, 8101 (RPO MN6) 6-speeds were built.

Seems it would pay to go over values with one's insurance before any hassle.
This certainly has me thinking. I discussed values when I insured but didn't discuss what they'd pay out in the event of a loss.
