A friend and I went to the Mecum Classic Car Auction in Kissimmee today. Here is a link to the pictures I took: http://bit.ly/1baB4sN .
I captured mostly Corvettes, and there were an amazing number of them. Some so rare that they belong in a museum; in fact a number of them came from collections, including Roger Judsky's very low mileage Corvettes. This is a rare opportunity too to see Corvettes you won't see anywhere else in the U. S., especially once they are sold to collectors and dispersed.
The "Real McCoy" C1 that saved the Corvette marque is on display. Very near it is the oldest known unrestored C1. A collection of Callaway rare C4's is on display including the Sledgehammer, which drove to a speed trial and obliterated all previous records for a speed trial at 251mph and then drove home! And there are some radical body work models, including a rare "Stingray" C5 (in my pictures) that went across the block today.
Most will be sold next Friday and Saturday, so if you're in Florida for the week, you still have plenty of time to take a run to Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee for a day. Be aware that no cars will be sold Monday, but they'll all be on display.
