Coulda taken it off and left it at home! Just got a few sprinkles hours after I got back home. But it has cooled down about 12-15 degrees and that felt cool with windows open. Gotta get some time to get the AC charged.

Vette(s): 1984 base coupe 17,000 miles all original. very low production number.red on red 3853. pro num.

i flew to fl. to check out an 84 vette. well when i got to the airport in fl daytona,  the owner picked me up in the car.  it was raining a little at the time.  well he said get in and drive it. we headed down 95 north all the suden the rain just cut loose.  so i slowed down becaues of the wet weather.  the owner said you better punch it becaues these people down here will run all over you.  so i punched it i was cruseing along around 75 mph then all the sunden the trga top went flying into the air.  i went to pull over, the owner said go faster the rain won't come in as bad just go ,go, go.   you know it worked not much rain got in the car at all. well the rain stopped. made it back to his house. man talk about alot of nice vettes he had them. i asked him if he had other ones for sale. no he replied.  we where standing in his 6 car garage  when a cop pulled up. he said the top hit his car. i'm thinking to my self oh no. going to jail.  it just so happened the cop was his brother in law.well after the dramma  i bought the car.  he bought me a new top ,and had the car shipped to ohio. also he paid for a ticket home. the only thing he said at the airport. was i should remember to tighten the bolts up the next time.

I can't imagine just driving on after the top came off! I'd be so Embarrassed.
And with my luck, it wouldn't have hit my brother-in-law the cop, but the meanest cop around!
Great story of how you got your '84.
