i bought a low profile racing jack 3 ton. i can get my front end up now. does anyone have any sugestions for the rear. i want to put the jack stands on all 4 points so i can keep my tires off the ground this winter. thanks

I can build you a saddle for your jack that lifts the rear by the outboard edges of the diff housing and clears the exhaust pipes. I'll email you a picture in the next day or so. I would need to have a picture of your exhaust where it passes under the diff and a measurement from the bottom of the diff housing to the lowest point of the pipes as they pass under it and the width of the two pipes (outside to outside).

Also according to my 1985 shop manual you can take a six inch piece of PVC pipe cut it in half glue a piece of carpet to inside and lift your vette by the strut beam. then use jack stands under the shock mounts so the suspention is lifted and not hanging all winter. both options should work though just another option.

The thing that was best for me was something that was on the market years ago call "Jack-A-Vette". I have not seen them in a long time but it was almost the same as the link above, and about the same price if memory serves me.
