Anyone have any experience with Hypertech programmers for our C4's (1994).

Worth the money or no?

I have one for my car. It is the original one. I think I got it in 95 or 96. It does seem to help. I have the 160 thermostat. It resets the fans for that so it runs cooler. I think it also bumps up the timing and injectors. It does feel more powerful. The new ones you can set more options.

Thanks Chad -- they are rather pricey ($400) and I wonder just how good they are.

I got one for my 94 just so I can run the motor cooler, performance did improve a little. $400 did not make me happy but it's a one time thing. My temp gauge always read on the hot side before. now it runs cool.

Thanks CB -- I've already got a manual fan control which I like, so $400 on just a few ponies doesn't make sense to me.

I was able to find a used one on Ebay for under $200 for my 94.  At that price I thought it was a good value because I was able to tune the cooling fans to turn on earlier, improve shift firmness, adjust rear wheel diameter to correct speedo, and optimize power tuning for premium fuel .  The cars runs considerably cooler and feels more powerful.

That's encouraging, G92 -- I'll watch out for one.

Thanks for the feedback.
