My 94 hatch seems to be solidly closed from the outside but rattles like crazy when I am driving. Is there a simple/self fix remedy???

did you determine if it is the hatch that is rattling or is there something else loose. if you take off the rear trim panels the hatch lock has an adjustment to tighten it up.

Could also be the support struts rattling. Check both ends for looseness.
If it is the actual hatch rattling, how is you weatherstripping? If it is collapsed, or just plain deteriorated, the hatch will be loose. Check the upper hinges for looseness, as well as the hatch latch mechanism.
As Dave(eddie) stated, be sure there is nothing else back there making the noise.

my rear hatch rattled alot i found the weather seal to be deformed . i replaced it. the rattle is gone.
