I have little pieces of black, looks like dry rotted foam coming out of the top vent in the dash. Any ideas what it might be? I had the dashpad off one day and I thought I saw a filter of some sort but I couldn't reach it. Is there a filter that can be switched out?

Sounds like your vent faceplate seals (foam) are dried out and turning into the "dust" you're seeing.

theres a filter thats under the cowl screens however i have to agree .with the post ahead of this one. try to find that one is all most impossible. the cowl filter is still available. just got one for mine. it keeps the road dust among other things out of the cock pit.
