I have been trying to decode my RPO codes and unfortunately half of them have been ripped out. I have decoded everything I do have and understand all of it but the V78. Everything I've read says it means 'delete vehicle statement'. Some people are saying that means it's an export, some argue it has to do with the antenna. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance. PS: I will be eventually getting my build sheet from the museum!

It's an 85. I don't know if my question is dumb one. I was just curious about what it meant.:D

RPO V78 = Vehicle Statement(Delete)(Export) looks like it MAY have been meant for export, but maybe not. It may simply mean that a label has been deleted. My best half-azzed guess would be it was a Canadian export car.
Other codes in that range are for export to places like China, Puerto Rico, Mexico, etc.

Not familiar with V78 at all. New one on me. However, if it was a car produced for the Canadian market, it should have the RPO Z49 ( mandatory base model changes)
Not much help to you, but this much I do know.

Vette(s): "86", "89", and finally an "81" Red/Tan. I call her "Sweet Pea".
V78 Vehicle Statement, Delete I think it means it was built for export to Mexico... I may be wrong... I found this at Nalleys
Genuine Factory GM Parts : V78 - VEHICLE STATEMENT(DELETE)(EXPORT); V86 - VEHICLE STATEMENT CHINA; V8C - VEHICLE STATEMENT MEXICO; V8D - VEHICLE STATEMENT US; V8E
It was built for Export...someplace...
