hi joe. with state farm insurance, what happens if car is totalled? do they pay you what they say the car is worth or did you have an agreed amount? my 75 is insured with taylors with an agreed amount of 15,000. costs me about 12.00 a month. has the same limits as my regular insurance for liability, etc.

I'd recommend Hagerty as well. Like Jonney I've found they had very reasonable rates and managing my policy online is a snap. Since getting set up last July I've made a couple upgrades/changes to my coverage and both times the changes were in force within 24 hrs. What's neat is you can print copies of your policy details or proof of insurance cards anytime you like using the online features. I even have a copy of my cards on my smartphone just in case.

I shopped around and bought J C Taylor's policy.375/yr full coverage , agreed value of $25,000...and no restrictions. a lot of what rate you get is determined by your zip code, so you can't arbitrarilly state one is better than the other....pretty much comes down to vehicle age, location it "resides at, and your driving record.

When I purchaesd my 96 LT4 in Feb 2012 I spent some time bidding out my insurance. I used the same policy limits as my street cars, stated value (my purchase price) and went with American Collectors Insurance. The process was simple and I had my binder in 24 hrs. My annual rate is $325 and I felt that was the best overall value. Oh, I live in Florida where EVERYTHING is more expensive!

well with hagerty, you can change your agreed value at anytime. also i cary the limits that are on my regular insurance policy. now with hagerty i also have a zero dedutable. on every thing that pertains to the car. like most insurace companies they go by your credit rating and location and driving record. on my harleys i carry gieco. and on my trucks. whats your opinions about gieco. i just up my value on my vette to 18,000 and it only cost me nouthing. thank god for hagerty...

I also use American Collectors Insurance and had the unfortunate need of filing a claim recently. The car was totaled on my way to a car show on a Saturday and by Monday the agent was in touch with me to get documents and keys over to him for pay out. Reasonal yearly rates, on line access, stated value and prompt service. FYI - the car was a 1996 Collector Edition with the LT4 engine.
