Since many of use use a collector car insurer (Hagerty, etc.), just wondering who the forum members are using. Good stories, prices, coverage, liberal agreed value, claim service, mileage restrictions? Thought it would be interesting to get opinions and educate.

All my cars are insured by Grundy, no limits on mileage, agreed value, have not had to place any claims so I can not answer that question. I went to Grundy's when I was told that I could not get special collectors insurance on my corvettes. Been with them for approx. 10 yrs.

I had insurance on both of my Corvettes thru American Modern, but then my agent, a local friend that likes hot rods, merged his collector car insurance with Heacoc k. Both cars, full coverage, is around $380 year, I think. I am limited on mileage to 3000, which isn't a problem for either car....I've had the '74 since '97, and haven't put 3000 miles on it yet!
Both are on agreed value, so if something major-nasty happens, I'll get that. I'm happy to report I haven't had to make any claims yet...hope I neverdo.

i got my 75 almost 3 years ago. started out with grundy as they didn't list it as for car shows or educational purposes only. if i had a problem i didn't want to have any problems if something happened. when it came time for renewal they raised the rate $40 and i started looking around. jc taylor did away with the stipulation and my rate was $80 cheaper.
didn't have any problem with the agreed value. the only problem i had with both of them was that they didnt want to cover me as i only had one vehicle (grundy) and when i got the 90 which is insured on my regular insurance(taylor) was that my wife was a licensed driver. i had to write a letter to both of them that my wife was handicapped and does not really drive that much and was not going to be using the car. no claims filed with either one but like the cheaper rates at taylor.

I have my two C1s with American Collectors as I drive them less and the rates are pretty good. My '86 is with State Farm along with my Buick. I sometimes like to drive the C4 more miles and use it for more routine driving. The only thing I don't like about State Farm is that I have to tell them when I put it away for the winter and when I will take it out. Sometimes Spring comes sooner than normal and sometimes Fall lasts longer.

I have my insurance through JC Taylor as well for a few years now. Good coverage, no mileage restrictions, reasonable rates, agreed upon value. Never had to file a claim yet, and hopefully never will.

I've got two with Hagerty, but fortunately have not had to use it.

just an update here. as stated above grundy, the 2nd year wanted to raise my rate by $40. taylor was $80 cheaper and when it came due for renewal this year the rate stayed the same.
