my ultimate corvette would be a 63-67. when they introduced the c3 ( and c4) i did not care for them but they grew on me. my wife bought the 75 for me for my 30th anniversary present ( first corvette i ever owned. i was in heaven driving around in it. i bought my 90 the next year for my birthday and love that one too.
the "aura" is different for both cars. the 75 looks mean coming down the street (guess that is why it is a shark
) and the 90 looks sleek. i love driving both of them and get equally a lot of attention in either one. to the ones who knock any corvette, dont buy one but to the smart people that have one (or more) enjoy them.

I have owned my '86 Coupe for nearly 20 years and have had lots of good times at shows and cruise nights. I wouldn't part with it. Runs great, decent performance, handles nice, and best of all when I drive it I feel about 20 years younger! Most people who don't own one or never drove one wouldn't understand. When the C4 came out in 1984 it was a technological and styling marvel. I'll keep mine thank you, no matter what anyone has to say about it.

Hello,I'm Charlie..I am new here as of today..When I bought my car I had never even heard the term C4....I bought it because I liked it.To me it was just an 89 Corvette...It wasn't til I started checking Corvette related stuff out on the computer that I found out that there thought less of than most Corvettes..I really enjoy driving it,and am pleased with the mileage that it gets..It seems to be a running joke to some that the L98s are really slow,but it has more power than I can ever put to good use,and unlimited top end..I don't think Chevy was as much concerned with how quick they were,They built them for top end speed,..I still think there pretty quick considering the fact that most came with (including mine) 2.59 gears......I have people complimenting me all the time about my car...I think that it's mostly other Vette owners that don't like them....They are not as cheap here in my neck of the woods (West Virginia) as they must be else where...The only ones I see advertised in the 4,500-5,000 range need a lot of work.....I like my car and that's what really matters....I think they will soon gain some value because a lot of the really low dollar ones won't be lasting to long...

I'm in the group of "I don't care about value". I enjoy it. Simple as that. If it was worth too much I'd be afraid to drive it. Ha Ha.

I found a '91 white convertible with 29,000 mile, never driven in the rain, the suspention has no road film, no rust, clean as a whistle. Red interior, and black top. the car looks and drives like a brand new car. Get ready to gasp for air. I paoid $17,000 for it
It stays in the garage except for weekly trips to local car shows. Loved driving it so much I woukd drive qaround for a couple of hours after the show.
Had to put a stop to that. Hope tghis is my retirement nest egg. Will probably be my funeral nest egg instead.


Solution, go buy another one
. Found local, a '93 Anniversary Issue, 48,000 miles on it. problem solved. it's my daily driver. Want o call me a gluten, guilty as charged.I seem to remember baqck when the c$'s came out, I saw them sitting on the side of the road more than going down the road. I have had not 1 singlke problem from either.

Over sixty caar show in the last 18 months, 58 trophies, 2 are 5'5" tall four posted all wood trophies. During rain threat shows I enter the '93, yes it also wins it's share of trophies.
Us C4 Vette owners know what we have, and those people that want to talk them down just don't know diddly. Both my Vettes have thier own personalities. I tell each 1 of them every day how much I love them. Oh, the '93 cost me $10,000. They had to come up with the C7 because they have mimicked the C4 body for the last 29 years. Nough said, running out of space, not words. TTYL all my C4 friends. We rule!
Found more space! The C4 has a never aging body style. That is for sure. I have been looking at C5 and C6 lately because the prices are dropping like crazy thanks to the C7. You can find one for less than I paid for my '91, but seven days a week one thing stands true, they are a dime a dozen. Some 5 & 6 owners try to tell me, but mine has.......and I cut them off at the knees. When the '84 hit the show rooms, they were cutting edge cars. And in many respects still are. Again 5s & 6s are a dime a dozen.
Makes no difference what year model any of us drive, simply look for the lettering on the car, it says Corvette, and we each geet a feeling of pride when we have that leather wrapped stitched steering wheel in our hand (no I am not an ole lady, just drive with one hand on the wheel). I am sure it's the same for each of us, necks twist and compliments are bestowed up on us every where we go. And rightfuly so, I mean after all, each of us own a true American Sports Car.
One more thing. I am a member of Corvette Legends of Texas. Recently we ere invited to have a display at the Dallas Auto Show. Yep, the new car show. I was thinkin, "I don't know if we should do that> I mean in with the new cars, the Camaros, the Cobras, the Chargers and Challengers, the Jaguars, the Bentlys, the Porches, and Mazaratis? We had ten cars, 1954 thru 2010, absolutely stole the show. I felt like I was surrounded by Poparatzees (spelling)?
We had a barrier up around the display, many times the whole barrier was lined with spectators, current and past Vette owners.
OK, now I will step down off my soap box. Anny doubt how I/we feel about Corvettes, and specialy our C4's. Hope I didn't bore anyone. Could go on and on, but probably should give it up for now. Everyone have a great month and I am sure I will rattle on more next month...............

When I started shopping for my first Corvette, C4 was the only generation I looked at! Love the body lines and the way the car feels when I drive it. I will never sell my C4! My kids will be able to enjoy this car as much as I have and I hope they will take care of it after I'm gone!
