.... about our C4s as collectors....notice how many are going across the block at Scottsdale? Even C3s have shamed us. Saw some parts and couple of LT-5 transplants but not much else. Still like mine ...and it's paid for.

Vette(s): 87 Red Coupe, not as pretty, had 213G miles, great running engine; got 20-21 around town, 27-28 on hwy; I got to drive a Vette, every day for 6 yrs. It was my first; so now I know what the fuss is all about. (Sold it 2015 for $3000, still ran great.)
In the Barrett-Jackson SOLD tent, today, I saw a 1987 C4 Callaway Corvette (remember the first $60,000 corvette?). It had 14,000 original miles. Looked new. Sold for $16,000. Pretty good bargain for a world class C4 hot-rod. Didn't notice any C5s; the C3s in collector condition with big, rare engines, were $30-50,000; and the 1960s were under $100Gs; so it wasn't a hot year for Vettes, it looks like.

Amen to that. Looked at a 2014 last year, I could buy 10 of my 86 convertible for the price of that one, and this one I can work on if I want.

I laugh all the time about how everyone says C4's aren't worth anything and never will be...I remember as a kid growing up in the late 1960's and early 70's that a C2 would sell for anywhere from 500 to 2000 bucks, look at them now! Corvettes will always bring premiums many years later, since they don't rot or rust away. The beauty of the C4 is that it was truly America's first "Supercar" and still contains technology that is used today..
