does it need a tune up? when you turn on a/c does the idle go up? corvettes do run a little hotter. a little more info would help.

1: Find another "mechanic"
So..it's running HOT, and it will not idle, if I read it correctly. We do need more info...
Has anyone checked for any CODES? Check engine light on?
Jumper the two terminals below, then turn on the key...don't start it, just turn the key to "Run". Count the number of "flashes" from the Check Engine light. For example, a code "12" would be one flash, followed by a short pause, then two quick flashes. A code 32 would be 3 flashes, pause, two quick flashes. It will repeat each code 3 times.
Check for codes, and then let us know what it has....
btw..it should always start with a code 12...this simply means the ECM has gone into diagnostic mode.

I vote for a tune-up and fix the cooling fans.
Let us know what you did find out. After all it has been months since you posted.
